Our commitment
Discernment is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Standards
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
As a service operating in the Netherlands and serving EU clients, we also follow:
- EN 301 549: The European standard for digital accessibility
- Digitoegankelijk: Dutch government accessibility requirements
- European Accessibility Act: Applicable requirements effective June 2025
Measures we take
We have taken the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Include accessibility as a requirement in our design and development process
- Use semantic HTML to ensure content structure is clear
- Provide sufficient colour contrast for text and interactive elements
- Ensure all functionality is accessible via keyboard
- Provide skip navigation links for screen reader users
- Include text alternatives for non-text content
- Ensure forms have proper labels and error messages
- Support browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content
- Provide visible focus indicators for interactive elements
- Avoid content that flashes more than three times per second
Conformance status
We believe this website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content may not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may have accessibility limitations. Known issues include:
- Contact form: The form does not yet provide comprehensive error messages for all validation states. We are working to improve this.
- Third-party content: Some embedded content from third parties may not meet accessibility standards. Where possible, we provide accessible alternatives.
We are actively working to address these issues and welcome feedback on accessibility barriers you encounter.
